The Petition Drive Continues! Contact us to Sign!

On October 9th, Dave Hayes and Dave Breeden delivered petitions containing 400 signatures to the Ocean City. Because Ocean City is a Faulkner Act community,

a petition for a referendum requires 10% of the voters in the previous year’s municipal election. In our case, 3,980 voters participated in the 2017 May election and we required 398 signatures to trigger a referendum, a number that we met.

The city did not accept our petitions and referenced a different section of the state law that requires 15% of the registered voters in the 2017 election, or 597 signatures.

Consequently, we are continuing to circulate petitions for signature while pursuing our legal options.

We have found that many people in the community are very upset with the City’s attempts to mislead the public concerning this unfortunate land deal.

Please call Dave Breeden at 609-399-8354 and we will bring a petition for you to sign.

” Every time we turn our heads the other way- when we tolerate what we know to be wrong- when we close our eyes and ears to the corrupt because we are too busy, too frightened-

when we fail to speak up and speak out, we strike a blow against freedom and dignity and justice.”- Robert F. Kennedy
