What is the Legal Fund?

The City of Ocean City is obstructing our right to bring the purchase of the Klause Property to a public referendum. When government refuses to listen or ignores citizens’ wishes, a referendum is their legal recourse.

Fairness in Taxes earned the right to a referendum by obtaining over the required 15 percent of votes cast in the most recent municipal election (2017).

Because the city is fighting our legal right to have a referendum and vote, we had to retain an attorney. We expect more legal expenses as the city continues to fight us. The Legal Fund will help to defray these expenses.
